Our Story …

🚗 Get ready! BTT Engineering is thrilled to announce their return to the 2025 Mystery Box Rally! Even though the VIP invitation didn't arrive this year, our enthusiasm to raise vital funds for the Cancer Council remains as strong as ever.

The Mystery Box Rally stands as a monumental community-driven fundraising initiative for the Cancer Council in Australia. Over the past 12 years, this incredible event has collectively raised over $8 million, contributing to a staggering total exceeding $50 million across all Box Rallies.

This year's rally team will see the exciting return of driving protégé Logan Veldhuis, joining forces with the accomplished Sprint Car champion and newly crowned 2025 Victorian V8 Dirt Modified Champion, Paul Tindal. BTT's trusty EL Falcon, proving its resilience against Eddie's abusive driving and will once again be the team's steadfast chariot. Cassette tapes sure to get a run include the aptly themed Bon Jovi's "Crossroads" and INXS's "Kick".

The journey to the starting line in Broken Hill will be an adventure in itself. The EL Falcon will embark on a 1400km trek from our Tasmanian office, catching the Spirit of Tasmania across the Strait. The route then winds its way to BTT’s Bendigo office to collect Paul before the final leg to Broken Hill. The rally itself promises 2,500km of what we anticipate will be challenging outback roads, culminating back in Broken Hill. True to the rally's name, our daily destinations remain a mystery until just before departure each morning, leaving no room for meticulous planning!

To make our participation a reality, we need to reach a minimum fundraising goal of $4,000. We would be immensely grateful for your generous support in this important cause. As a token of our appreciation, any donation of $500 or more + the Mystery Box Rally's admin fee will see your company name proudly displayed on our rally car. We would be delighted to have you join us on this adventure in August!

While the thrill of the rally is undeniable, the core mission remains fundraising. This year, BTT Engineering has set an ambitious goal to raise at least $12,000. Every single dollar raised will directly support the Cancer Council's crucial research efforts. And remember, all donations are fully tax deductible, a welcome benefit as the financial year draws to a close.

Here's what I'm doing …

Mystery Box Rally is a 5-day challenge like no other. Participants drive 25+ year old cars along a mystery route, through some of Australia’s most stunning (and often rugged) landscapes, all in support of cancer research. It’s not a race—it’s a challenge and more importantly, a celebration of the power of community.

Yes, the cars break down, and yes, there are plenty of unexpected twists along the way, but that’s all part of the fun. The rally is designed to be a colourful and unpredictable experience, where teams travel in small groups, helping each other along the way. And when the day’s drive ends, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and reflect on the day’s achievements.

This event brings together people who have been impacted by cancer in different ways—whether it's through their own battles or through loved ones. Together we’ll make memories that last a lifetime while supporting the fight against cancer.
