We are really happy to announce that we're taking part in Mystery Box Rally in 2025!!
Mystery Box Rally is one of the largest community lead fundraising events for Cancer Council in Australia having raised over $8 million in the last 12 years. This rally will have us driving a car that is 25 years or older along outback roads.
We will do approximately 2,500kms in 5 days. We set off from Broken Hill & return to Broken Hill 5 days later, each day in between is a mystery, we have no idea where we will be headed until just before departure the next morning.
In order for us to participate we need to raise $4,000 and every dollar raised goes to Cancer Council. We would very much appreciate it if you could donate to the cause & help us on our journey!
Joc & Simon’s Shitbox Charity Drive: Supporting the Fight Against Cancer
In the heart of the Australian Outback, two friends, Joc and Simon, are embarking on a journey—not just to conquer the terrain and probably have some fun along the way, but to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
Cancer touches all of us, and there are no exceptions. This cause is profoundly personal, especially for Simon. Fourteen Years ago, Simon’s daughter Harriet faced the unthinkable. Just as she was preparing for her HSC, she was diagnosed with extensive bone cancer. The battle didn’t end there; the cancer metastasized to her lungs.
What followed were years of grueling treatments, surgeries, and unimaginable challenges. Thanks to the unwavering dedication of her medical team, including the incredible Chris O'Brien Lifehouse team, Simon’s daughter defied the odds. Today, she is not just a survivor—she’s a healer. At 30, she now works as a doctor in the ICU unit at Royal North Shore Hospital, giving back to those in the same vulnerable position she once faced.
This incredible journey, from patient to doctor, embodies hope, resilience, and the power of compassionate care. It’s a testament to what can be achieved when people rally together to support life-saving medical advancements and provide care for those in need.
Now, Joc and Simon are calling on you to join them. By supporting their Charity Drive, you’re contributing to the fight against cancer. Money raised will go to the Cancer Council and will help more families find hope and ensuring more stories like Simon’s daughter’s can be written.
Together, let’s fund the breakthroughs that save lives. Let’s ensure more people not only survive cancer but thrive afterward.
Please donate today—because with your help, we can drive out cancer for good.
Teams will drive their own 25+ year old cars along a mystery route in this unique 5-day challenge, all in the name of cancer research. The route is a loop starting and finishing at the same location, but all the other details are kept under wraps, only given to the teams each morning.
The rally is not a race – it’s a fun, colourful, unpredictable adventure with participants travelling at their own pace in smaller groups. Vehicles often break down but “we never leave anyone behind” and each night is spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the day’s achievements. It all adds up to an incredible opportunity to see Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make lifelong friends, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.
Since it’s inception the rally has been the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Council nationally.
